Rian’s work can be traced back to an early exposure to both remembrance and human connection - largely shaped by childhood experiences of living behind his local churchyard, where loss and care are prevelant. 

 

This experience of documenting memory and legacy naturally expanded into a broader exploration of identity and the quiet moments that define us. His work  focuses on these themes of identity and care, using portraiture, still life, and conceptual imagery to explore how we express and preserve who we are. Rian’s approach remains deeply sensitive and narrative-driven, capturing the intimate and often unseen details that shape our sense of self.
