Overlay is a exploration of identity, perception, and time, examining how the environments we inhabit shape who we are. Each environment is captured on Polaroid 600 film, and used to cover their face, creating a visual paradox that both obscures and reveals aspects of their identity.

Captured in diverse locations, under varying conditions, and at different moments, Overlay blurs the lines between past and present, challenging the viewer’s understanding of how we recognise and reconstruct identity through images. The project explores the tension between self-perception and external influences, offering a unique reflection on the fluidity of identity.
